Unfortunately, I didn’t photograph the result of the first few hours of sketching with paint at the event. The image below was taken after a few hours in the studio on May 5th. You might call this an "Impression." The French Impressionist would do something like this and call it finished. I'm not an Impressionist, but started this work in a similar way. Click on picture for a larger image.
| By the time this gets put up I've already worked more on the painting. I'll add another image tomorrow and again when I get more done. I can't predict when the work will be completed. I'm not even sure it will be successful. So far, it's been a gas, and I'm looking forward to painting. The problem will be, how much time can I devote to this at the expense of other obligations. If I were only younger and without so many commitments. |
