Figurative Oil Painting

"Day of Atonement"

Bruce I. Campbell, a native Washingtonian, began his love of art at the age of five. He grew up in Mitchellville, Maryland, and graduated from DuVal Senior High School. Later, he earned a B.A. in Fine Arts and holds a Masters Degree in Applied Management, both from the University of Maryland. Since 1995, Bruce's artistic endeavors have intensified as a Copyist Painter at the National Gallery of Art.
After attending the Million Man March, he embarked on an ambitious project, by starting an epic oil painting of the event. This painting and a copy were displayed along with life drawings at Bruce's first art exhibit in March, 1996. The show was shared with several colleagues at the Atelier Royal, located in Riverdale, MD. Mr. Campbell's personal return to artistic reality has been a challenge that he devotedly welcomes.
